Franklin Roosevelt ordered the confiscation of most gold from private citizens. They were to turn in their holdings in exchange for paper currency. Officials explained their currency would be backed by gold in Fort Knox, so people complied. Normally there would be an outcry from the freedom loving Americans for such an executive order to be passed, but these were not the ordinary course of events. Panic, insecurity and fear ruled the day, runs on banks forced FDR to close the banks leaving Americans unsure of what tomorrow would bring. It is very easy to persuade a nation to accept monumental changes in their way of life when there is a major crisis.

Parallel that todays environment. Government stepping in, taking on the responsibility of the banks. A bailout using the people's funds whether free thinking folk agree or not. Gold and other precious metals barely rising in value. Very similar happenings shaping the course of events. The global economy again feeling the ripple effect and the pointing of fingers at whose at fault has begun.

The call for a globalized economy where a government controlled banking system would be the end of free enterprise as we know it. Dreams and aspirations of the individual would all but disappear. There is a great tug of war going on in society. The polarizing effects of our banking institutions has brought it to the fore front. Todays global economy can effect everything. Not only our banking systems, but our very way of life.

Entrepreneurialism is founded on the premise of free thinking individuals. Merit, success, hard work and individual prosperity is rewarded to those who maintain focus and discipline creating a venture that benefits all and the belief in unlimited wealth. That is the essence of Capitalism. Capitalism allows free enterprise to take place and businesses to flourish. It's value is simply based on one thing, the free voluntary judgment of the consumer. Capitalism offers the freedom of choice.

There has been a slow erosion of Capitalism, a shift towards a more all inclusive system that "shares the wealth". The premise is based on the fact that there is a limited amount of wealth to be shared in the world. It must be equally divided thus the work be equally divided. There is no penalty for not meeting the minimum requirement and no reward for individual merit. The mere idea of "shared wealth" minimizes the reward to the hard worker and encourages a dulling of creativity. Now, if you were offered a job that told you no matter what you do, you get paid. You don't get paid more or less than anyone else. There is no additional pay for overtime, but you receive your benefits like everyone else. Sounds secure doesn't it, sounds like an easy way to earn a paycheck. Sounds like Socialism.

Socialism is a utopian ideal that kills free enterprise. It stifles creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit. In Americas's Silicon Valley there were no new IPO's for the second quarter in what was once America's second industrial revolution. There was only One new IPO in the third quarter. Clearly there is a slow down in the economic growth to put it mildly. Complicated tax codes and bureaucratic penalties for doing business in the United States has forced many Industries to outsource or outright leave for kinder shores.

The Internet is the last bastion for the free thinker, the maverick, the maker of dreams that is the Entrepreneur. It is untouched by the bureaucracies of our governments. It offers unlimited wealth for those who are disciplined and work to create innovative opportunities. It reaches every country, every shore, every nook and cranny where the free thinker may exist. Every day, a new dreamer is born ready to live the dream that we here in America created in 1776. The world is a much smaller place with the innovation of the Internet; we don't know where the next Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison or Bill Gates will crop up. But as long as the Internet remains the realm of the Entrepreneur, they will be found, cultivated and grown. Capitalism is the hope and dream of many around the world searching for freedom. Wealth and prosperity for the individual IS possible as long as we keep this beacon of light burning strong.

Have You Ever Seen the Face of God?



I have. I am one of the lucky few. He did not show himself to me in an image of Fire or an image of a Mighty Man. He showed himself as the lamb. In the image of a man in a wheel chair. A man in a wheel chair with cerebral palsy. A man left abandoned hoping that a stranger would offer him help.

His will was strong, you could sense the fire within his soul, you could sense his mighty power, it was only his body that had betrayed him. He asked each person as they walked by for assistance and aid, all ignored him, shunned him, and looked the other way. He did not waiver. He remained steadfast.

Finally, a blessed woman stopped to listen although her friend tried unsuccessfully to have her move on. Her dark skin glowed around her face as if she wore a halo. She was to be his guardian angel. He told her of his plight. He had been dropped off by an assistance vehicle service in the wrong area. The driver did not pay attention to the address and simply left him. He was lost and alone. This angel of a woman, armed with her cell phone took action. He provided the number to the service and his id code and she listened, called and demanded they return immediately and drive him to his correct destination.

She stayed with him until he was safely on his way.

She had been tested and deemed worthy.

The scene played out before me. As I sat there, I became filled with a sense of overwhelming peace. I said to myself "so shines a good deed in a weary world". I walked passed the woman and told her "God bless you Angel". I have been changed ever since. There is a sweet smell in the air, the sky is bluer, the clouds are puffier and whiter, the sun shines brighter.

See, I was meant to witness this act. I was outside in that spot for 15 minutes only never to return there for the rest of the day. A portal, a window in time. I know now that our humanity is not lost, that it does still exist.

Why do I share this story?

For I vow, if you reach out, I will be there.

If you fall, I will catch you.

You have a choice who you do business with, how you conduct yourself, who you work with, who you spend your time with.

If you choose me, I will care, make you proud, help you succeed and grow.

That is my shinning good deed in a weary world and my promise to you.

Have You Ever Seen the Face of God?


I have. I am one of the lucky few. He did not show himself to me in an image of Fire or an image of a Mighty Man. He showed himself as the lamb. In the image of a man in a wheel chair. A man in a wheel chair with cerebral palsy. A man left abandoned hoping that a stranger would offer him help.

His will was strong, you could sense the fire within his soul, you could sense his mighty power, it was only his body that had betrayed him. He asked each person as they walked by for assistance and aid, all ignored him, shunned him, and looked the other way. He did not waiver. He remained steadfast.

Finally, a blessed woman stopped to listen although her friend tried unsuccessfully to have her move on. Her dark skin glowed around her face as if she wore a halo. She was to be his guardian angel. He told her of his plight. He had been dropped off by an assistance vehicle service in the wrong area. The driver did not pay attention to the address and simply left him. He was lost and alone. This angel of a woman, armed with her cell phone took action. He provided the number to the service and his id code and she listened, called and demanded they return immediately and drive him to his correct destination.

She stayed with him until he was safely on his way.

She had been tested and deemed worthy.

The scene played out before me. As I sat there, I became filled with a sense of overwhelming peace. I said to myself "so shines a good deed in a weary world". I walked passed the woman and told her "God bless you Angel". I have been changed ever since. There is a sweet smell in the air, the sky is bluer, the clouds are puffier and whiter, the sun shines brighter.

See, I was meant to witness this act. I was outside in that spot for 15 minutes only never to return there for the rest of the day. A portal, a window in time. I know now that our humanity is not lost, that it does still exist.

Why do I share this story?

A funny thing happened to me the other day while I was sitting in the dentist's chair. You know how when you are in the chair you are definitely at a conversational disadvantage. Conversations are more like monologues even after your time it up and your tongue is thick from the anesthesia.

Anyway the monologue turned toward the current mortgage crisis with the millions of homeowner's facing foreclosure when Murray, that's my dentist's name proclaimed a simple sure to the real estate debacle by just letting the people stay in their homes and just extend the term of the mortgage another10 .. 20 or maybe even 40 years.

I wanted to ask at what age would someone become "free and clear" but as I said I was clearly at a great disadvantage, dental tools, suction devices and fingers in my mouth. There was hardly enough room left for my tongue let alone pose any opposing point of view so I gave the cursory unintelligible sound when someone is on the wrong end of a tooth scaler and kind of half nodded.

I thought about that dental chat for the next couple of hours on my way home from NYC and decided do some research on the subject. Our parents, if not out grandparents were firm believers in the American dream that they would some day own their property free and clear. In the case of my conversation with Murray I was left wondering when or if many Americans would ever realize mprtgage free real estate again.

According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), first time home buyers are on the average 33 years old, earning $64,000 per year and purchase their first house for about $150,000.00. On the finance side of the equaision about one third of all first time home buyers place a 20% down payment on their property with more than 30% of first time home buyers financing 95% via a mortgage.

Consider the traditional first time buyer with 20% down payment, theoretically he has a $30,000 equity position. Unfortunately with the stumble of real estate values he could actually have much less. Consider if our buyer was in the Miami metro area, one of the areas which shows almost a 22% loss in real estate value. Our traditional home buyer goes from an equity level in the black to the red in the blink of an eye and our buyer with only 5% down sinks like the titanic, totally upended in his financing to the tune of nearly $26,000. In the days of the depression only the people who owned their property free and clear were assured of a roof over their heads and people who wore mortgages like the yoke of an ox more often than not ended up sleeping on the street.

Are the days of free and clear a thing of the past? It would certainly seem that the current trend is to indoctrinate my fellow Americans into a life of debt. In the Washington Post there was an article giving advise on real estate. The question was whether or not they should pay off their mortgage with a portion of their savings. The adviser, an attorney said they should borrow against their equity thus giving them about $73,000 tax free.

That isn't the part which bothered me the most however what grabbed my attention was when he said to put that money in the bank and use it to pay increasing taxes, not create an investment to further one's financial freedom. Have we now lost sight of the American dream and are now embracing into a new era of slavery?

Wikipedia defines a home owner as an owner occupier. An owner-occupier is a person who lives in a house that he or she owns. You only become the owner when it is free and clear otherwise you are just the mortgagor, one step up from a tenant with one difference.... the hope that one day the mortgagor will become mortgage free.

The housing market crumbles as families and communities struggle under the overwhelming weight of foreclosures, it is imperative that the Administration consider reinstating seller-funded downpayment assistance (DPA). Before its elimination last month, DPA helped more than a million hardworking families become homeowners. If given the option, hundreds-of-thousand more working families would happily take advantage of depressed prices and purchase foreclosed homes, deflating the overstock of inventory that is fueling the housing crisis. Further, distressed families could easily refinance out of risky adjustable rate mortgages into low-interest, fixed FHA mortgages using DPA. Sheila Bair, Chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) is offering solutions to the foreclosure fallout and calls upon our elected officials to open their eyes to the role that DPA can play in alleviating stress on the economy and families in this foreclosure crisis.

Down-payment assistance programs enlist the participation of nonprofit organizations in a bid to help low-income families cover the costs of a down payment (along with, in some cases, closing costs and other upfront cash requirements). Today, nearly one in five borrowers whose mortgages are insured by the Federal Housing Administration (the largest insurer of mortgages in the U.S.) make use of down-payment assistance programs.

They oversee the transfer of money from the seller to the non-profit organization. In turn, the organization gives the home buyer a similar amount for the down payment on the home (the nonprofit takes a piece of the deal through a percentage of the transaction -- typically one percent -- or a flat fee). The gift is treated as a down payment. The buyer has no part in the transfer of funds, and he or she is not required to pay it back.

The most prominent of the nonprofit organizations that facilitate these transactions are The Nehemiah Program, AmeriDream Inc. and Partners In Charity.

However those exclusive pack of leads you just bought may be sold up to several dozen times to different people within a 24 hour period, each being told those leads are exclusive.

Lead brokers are unethica, there I said it and it'is no lie!

You need to buy at least 100 leads just to speak to maybe 2 people who "might" be interested in your business. That's pretty sad and a real waste of your hard earned money and time.

A recent market study of online retail sales conducted by Machrotech showed a 28 percent increase in sales, penetrating 71 percent of the US population between 2005-2006. In keeping those results in mind, one would be inclined to believe that creating a home business with a healthy residual income stream would be easy. Internet marketing failure rates paint a darker side to this story claiming dismal failure rates so high that it would appear nearly impossible to make any sort of regular income let alone a residual income with a home business.

That being said, making an income online is not only possible but probable if you follow the directions. The problem with following directions is that there are so many people giving them that following them is near impossible. Imagine how difficult it would be if you were driving down a busy street and thousands of people were shouting directions. Turn right, turn left, go faster, stop here! The thought alone is overwhelming, the frustration is exasperating.

Based on that scenario, I doubt if you would get very far either in your car or in your home business let alone make any money today or long lasting income for the tomorrows ahead. That is just one reason why experts claim that only about 3% of everyone who starts an online business will succeed.

The odds seem to weigh heavily against you however before you throw up your arms in despair and dash your dreams of owning your own home business into a million pieces I want you to think of something else. Have you ever been in a casino? If you are like many other people, I am sure that you have. Maybe you have played cards, rolled dice, spun a wheel or pulled the handle of a slot machine. I'll bet you have even won a time or three three and had great fun i the process.

You may be wondering at this point why I would bring up casino games in the middle of a home business, residual income article so I will get to the point. Casinos rake in billions of dollars each year. There is no denying that fact but did you also know that the Casinos play with a very slight edge by design their games may carry only one percentage point in their favor and that is their draw, you have in some cases high chance of winning except more often than that you walk away with less money than you had before you started playing.

Casinos have the knowledge to use small percentages to earn them piles of long term residual income just as you need the knowledge of the home business market to achieve similar results.

Educate yourself before jumping feet first into the deep end of the marketing pool.
